It really is much safer now. Back then, you didn't have much in the way of barriers....you had lots of trees, bushes, telephone poles, and the like. Imagine going down Mulsanne Straight and wondering...."What tree do I hit if I have a tire blow out?"

Thats my grandfather that was the last of the 4 works Porsches spinning at 4:25, I would kill to have been there to see these cars raced this way.

I want to watch these live episodes of every year. It's nice to feel the excitement of a race from 40 years or so ago

This era of racing is gone and will never return.
Current LeMans is nice but not like this.
BTW, at least back ground music has improved!

The Matra driven by Servoz-gavin and Pescarolo could have finished 2nd..they drove without wiper system all night...this was real sport !
