  • The Waystation and Saugus Cafe are Santa Clarita icons. If you liked Bob's Big Boy, try out Telly's for breakfast. They just opened a new one in Castaic!

  • Well Egg Plantation is ranked #3

  • Get a life and learn some good food.

  • OK, so what are your recommendations for good breakfast food in Santa Clarita?

  • Bob, you've gotta try Starlight Cafe in the same shopping center as the Vallarta. They probably have the best breakfasts in the SCV, and since they're family owned and operated, they'd fit perfectly with your list of places to take out-of-towners.

  • Thanks Pondo...yes, I've had an excellent experience at the Starlight and Lilly's Cafe (both on Lyons Avenue). The Starlight offers delicious burgers by the way - and Lilly's has a great ham sandwich for lunch - kinda like the one my mom used to make with chunks of ham - not processed slices.

  • In my day Santa Clarita was redneckville.

  • Salt Creek's brunch is fabulous and less expensive than Vines.

The new Dinks on the patios at the mall was great this weekend, great bagels. Always love the swedish pancake that comes with any breakfast at Eggs and Things, great omelets too.

    Saugus Cafe is a classic.

And you can't forget Crazy Ottos in Acton if you just want to eat yourself silly!

Mimi's muffins are great, but so are Coco's and without the wait.

  • I think Saugus Cafe should be higher then 7. Its awesome

  • The Sauer guts cafe

  • Is Tip's still in existance? I am told its where James Dean ate his last meal before his tragic drive to Salinas.

  • I lived in Newhall in the 60s, and my mom worked at the Waystation. Back then, though, it was Currie's Ice Cream Parlour.

Back then for breakfast out we used to go to the diner inside the Lyon Lanes bowling alley.

When I was back over there last fall, I asked some people for breakfast recommendations and they suggested the Halfway House. Yes, it's way out Sierra Highway on the way to Palmdale, but if Castaic is considered inside your circle that shouldn't bother you.

    BTW, Mimi's is a chain.

  • waystation niggah.

  • Tiny Naylors had great strawberry shakes too!

  • Ahh, yes Tips! I liked Tips for the fruity alcoholic drinks...i mean who could forget those delicious mai-tai's and scorpions?

  • Speaking of old restaurants in the SCV, How about "Hi Chic" on San Franando Rd. and TIPS!
