Young Republican Midwest Regional Director Josiah Cantrall interviews Lord Christopher Monckton. English nobleman and global-warming expert,

Red, white and blue ties are normally stored in our closets until the 4th of July rolls around again, but apparently the man striding towards the microphone felt differently. It didn't take me long to realize he talked differently too, by his accent I judged him to be a Scotchman. I was wrong. Lord Christopher Monckton, 3rd Viscount of Brenckley is British. A hereditary peer, journalist, mathematician, and renowned climate change expert, Lord Monckton first rose to prominence as an adviser to Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher's administration. But that's not what intrigued me about him.

Maybe it was the way his voice shook when he spoke about freedom, or the tears that hovered in the corner of his eyes as he raised his head to heaven and asked God to bless the United States of America. After his speech I stood in line, waiting for a chance to interview him. We spoke shortly afterword and he then followed me back into the press room. Suddenly it dawned on me, Lord Christopher Monckton may salute a different flag but his allegiance is to the principles that define our beloved stars and stripes; equal opportunity, democracy and freedom for all.

  • Go Josiah! You are a great American!

  • Backing you fully Josiah, with SCIENCE, rather than perception and deception. Had I the time and ability to permit airspace to Lord Monckton, It would be a criminal act to avoid such. I applaud you and Lord Monckton in this debate. The truth is undeniable.

  • Agreed.
