Early morning video from iPhone 4, more videos to come from http://www.OCReef.com

Finally got around to shooting a quick vid of our office Saltwater Nano Aquarium, it's a 27 Gallon Marineland Aquarium, including CO2 Injection. LED Lights include: OCReef X Series 60 Watt CREE, Orphek PAR PR-ML7 4 Blue 3 UV LED Pendant, and 1 Ecoxotic Blue Stunner LED Strip. Filtration includes: Live Rock, Tom Rapids Pro Series RP3 Plus Canister Filter with AutoFill System, and an Aqua Maxx HOB 1 Protein Skimmer. Note: The CopperBand Butterfly fish is a temporary addition to this tank, he was added to mow down the Aiptasia that exist in this tank.

I have used both, and we do sell both models. My main three reasons as to why I like the Octopus more, include: it produces more skimmate, has a larger collection cup, and the external pump, which not only keeps the heat that the pump produces out of the water, but also extends the life of the pump. The pump for the Aqua Maxx gets really dirty, and will have to be constantly cleaned. Regarding noise, I'd say they are both the same in terms of how loud they are, which is not bad for both.

On a scale from 1 to 10, I'd give it an 8. I'd recommend the Octopus hob model bh1000, see the following web page below, for the details for this skimmer.

How's the rp3 filter working for you? I'm thinking about one of these for my 29 gallon tank.

    Thanks.

We've had for a couple of months now, & so far we really like it, we have the pro w/ the Auto Top Off, which is convenient, because we have a high rate of evaporation here in Orange County. The built-in skimmer could be a bit more powerful, but for our needs it suites us well. All in all, not bad for a combo set-up. On a scale of 1 - 10, I'd give a 9. The web page is below, not sure if YouTube will allow it or not. ocreef.com/tom_rapids_pro_series_rp3_plus_canister_filter_with_auto_fill_system
