The Vox Big Ben Overdrive is a transparent, saturated dream of an overdrive pedal. Using a 12AU7 like all the Cooltron pedals, the Big Ben OD gives you actual tube overdrive that responds like a tube amp. The 12AU7 is used for its tonal stability at low voltages. It doesn't sound "starved" or thin. This also gives a healthy increase in battery life considering it runs at only 95ma.

The Vox Big Ben Overdrive is aptly named, it is a large pedal with a huge tone. The Big Ben is smooth and creamy with big bottom end and pronounced midrange. The top end is tight, not brittle or fizzy. The Big Ben is very responsive to dynamics with very focused harmonic response and natural sounding overdrive. Crystal clear note separation even at the highest gain settings make the Big Ben Overdrive an excellent front end for any rig.
