Daru37: the name of the chord at 7:39 is Bflat 13. He's playing the 13th (G note) on the first string (1st fret), a d (3rd of the chord) on 2nd string (3rd fret). He includes a 9th (c note) - 5th fret, 3rd string, and finally on 6th fret, 4th string the 7th (a flat) of the chord. As is often the case in jazz, this chord is played without a root note which in this case would have been a B flat note (had he played it). Once you learn about scales and their relation to chords it all makes sense

beautiful, thanks--at about 6:10 you say to go to a Eb 9b9, it's actually an F7b9

I do not know the name but here is the fingering: 3rd finger on the 6th fret D string, 2nd finger on the 5th fret G string, first finger on the 3rd fret B string, pinky on the 5th fret little E string. You can slide the first finger from the 3rd fret B string to the 4th fret for effect. Let me now how you like it! I have some more videos of the Jump Blues that I will post soon. -Billy

Hey Billy-big thanks for all your effort,I really appreciate your help ! I understand the I-IV-V progression, but how do you know what or when to add in all those other passing chords? I also play by ear,and don't care so much what the chords are called,as long as I understand how to play them where they belong. You played so many other chords inbetween the I-IV-V-& that's what I'd love to learn to play. Thanks. Keith

Keith- Just follow what I played. That is really a jazz take on the I-IV-V 12 bar blues. Use those chords in the video exactly like I played them and learn it.....thats where they belong. Then you will start to hear where everything is going. Does that make sense? Let me know if it does. It is easier for me to answer specific questions so I can be more effective in helping you. I have a few more videos in the can on this so be on the lookout for them. -Billy

@300guitars Yea that does make more sense now that I'm viewing it again. If it's possible to get a closer look at your left hand in your future lessons-that would be even more helpful, but either way I'm going to enjoy trying to work this lesson out. Thanks again for all your effort. Cheers

No problem Keith...glad I could help you. I will try to get closer to my left hand or get someone to help me shoot. Just follow what I said where to put each finer. I'm sure you can find the names of the chords and their corresponding fingering shapes online....what cant you find online right? -Billy
