  • @MrSirSmoky A "Variac" is an AC transformer. Alternating current. You need DC for this, direct current. As for the other stuff, I don't know, but I know this is a DC process, and you have AC equipment. (unless your DC supply is plugged into the variac for some silly reason)

  • @MrSirSmoky

I don't know why you bought a TDS meter (useless), or a variac (not needed), or a pH meter (not needed), and I don't know what you actually did, so unless you tell me more I can't help you. The process works as I showed, and many people have duplicated it on my forum. Join the forum, and I will try to help you figure it out.

  • @kephranet Finally I got all equipment and components necessary for such experiment, but I figured out that all of those stories about "easy colloidal gold making" is one BS.

I got nice AC/DC Variacs, heated magnetic stirrer, sodium citrate & much more; ph testers, couple TDS's', pure (24K) wires and guess what? I have no positive results as expected! At any temperature, at any voltage,... I can't get colloidal gold as you guys were showing. What I am doing wrong?

  • @kephranet Oh dang! Then I think I will have to make it from gold chloride following your instructions. Thank you for your answers and your info. You make a great teacher!

  • @rarosera It must be pure gold... 24kt, .999 fine. Otherwise, you are putting what could be toxic metals into your colloidal gold.

  • @kephranet Thanks. I thought that was a bit odd. Another question; Must it be 24ct gold or can it be made with 22ct?

  • @rarosera No, absolutely not!. Arc systems require lethal high voltages to spark off gold. This method uses safe low voltage to remove gold chemically.

  • Question: is it not necessary to create an arc? I see CG systems using arcs and others NOT using arcs, can anyone clarify this for me?
