The music fits with the gorillas' playful nature. It shows the lighthearted side of their nature, a side that is often lost in popular culture and imagination.
Would anyone not have a fit? I'm a very liberal person, but I'd be a little confused if two apes started grinding to the rhythm of Joe Raposo's sweet melodies.
Nice, upbeat tune - for some reason, it reminds me of another great Sesame memory - ' Film of Winter in New York' (also Raposo, of course).

Watching this as a kid was one of the first times I thought, hmmm, something about these animals looks familiar - how come?

I'd say the first film was done first.

I remember the one with the gorillas.
The gorilla scenes were edited into an episode of MARRIED WITH CHILDREN.
I can't forget the monkeys on the goat.
The loud bang as the goat butted him off with the head startled me.
Sweet memories.
Now SESAME STREET is all wacky with a capital W. Egh!
