Amazon Kindle Touch Review

You'd think with the popularity of tablets being at an all time high, there'd hardly be room for e-readers. That's an understandable assumption, but it doesn't give enough credit to what a quality these devices offer. Amazon obviously feels the market is still bustling with activity, as the company currently offers three different e-ink devices -- Kindle, Kindle Touch, Kindle Keyboard.
The Kindle Touch is a device that has immediate appeal because it combines the old technology (barebones Kindle) with the new (multi-touch support). Not to mention it's a Kindle, which for some is reason enough to hop on board. Consumers, especially ones who have used an older Kindle, will feel comfortable with the device's simplicity and utilitarian approach.

  • I tap my screen with my knuckle rather than using my finger tips. That way there is no greasy smudges to worry about.

  • I got one of these for christmas =)

  • I also love the book "Freaknomics". Odd that there is not lock feature to allow you to clean the screen.

  • @thelaw986 Fully support! It is so annoying that I couldn't watch more than first 3 minutes.

  • They should implement a "lock" button or function, to enable us to accidentally touch the screen without turning the page.

  • emazon?

  • @Ruzz45 no you'll need a light

  • forgive me for the stupid question... but can the Kindle Touch be readable at night without light?

  • @SmokeySinatra the Kindle Fire will do much more. If you just want to read, just the Kindle Touch, but if you wanna play games, watch movies, listen to music, have apps, get the fire.

  • is this better than the kindle fire I'm stuck and don't know which one to get?

  • it glares as much as a matte screen. people, its not magic, there can't be NO glare.
