A quiet ride on Princes Street, Edinburgh

Normally I avoid riding on Princes Street. The buses tend to either have the road at gridlick, or hammer down faster than the 20mph limit, squeezing in front of you at the numerous stops along the way.

This particular morning, however, was a public holiday (which my work doesn't offer to us) and the roads being incredibly quiet it was actually quite pleasant for once...

Well there are three Hiltons in Edinburgh, and, erm, none are on Princes Street (although one, the Caledonian Hilton I think, is just a little further on on the left from the end of the clip...)

@billybop65 The basic answer is room but then they're other problems. Funnily enough I'm a cyclist but spend most of my time praising Lothian Bus drivers and First in the city are starting to improve too. I only ever find bad bus drivers outwith the city.

Thanks for this! Im an Edinburgh bus driver & i confess to cursing the cyclist in the past. What we really need is all motor traffic, cyclists & pedestrians to be completly segregated for safety reasons. They do it successfully on the continent, why not here?

I stayed at the Hilton and yeah the Caledonian Hilton is at the end. This is the best st to stay on in Edinburgh best experience.
