I contacted the City's Traffic department regarding this same area. I was told that a median is going in place here. It has already been designed in conjunction with Caltrans. The City also applied for a grant from the state for this median.
THey did tell me that some of the businesses have voiced concerns since it would limit access to their buisnesses. The City is working with those businesses to resolve their issues before they can construct the median.

I hate that section of Lyons! Almost got into a accident twice in the past 3 months.
