I'll forever defend Cruise as an actor. The man is phenomenal when given the right script and director. He was incredible in this role. He goes from being a pretentious, misogynist jerk to being brought to the lowest of lows, and he handles it so well. It's really terrible that his personal life has tainted his reputation so deeply. People need to separate Cruise the actor from Cruise the man; his personal life is no one's business. The man is a great actor, plain and simple.

@arasace Cruise still gets good scripts man. I'd say he fucked his own reputation with his whole Scientology rant and his Oprah melt down. He's a good actor though.

@DonRMB everybody you said there deserved an oscar or more...except Will Smith, what movie do you think he deserved an oscar for? his best performance was Seven Pounds, but noway in hell he wins over Daniel Day Lewis for that, didnt even deserve a nomination to be honest. He is a good actor though

@jvoltios Toms not in the in crowd,and doesn't play the political game in hollywood anymore, thats why he doesn't get the best scripts like Clooney,Damon, and Pitt. Its no accident that after Brad Pitts best friend and former business partner took over Paramount in 2005 the very next year they fired Cruise and blamed it on scientology, oprah and mi3 not making a billion dollars worldwide. Guess which company produced Babel and Benjamin Button, which both got oscar noms and flopped domesticaly.
