Award winning digital artist Angie Jordan demonstrates creating caricatures on the iPad in her second review.

This week she discusses how the iPad compares to the Wacom Cintiq and also talks about a new drawing program, Art Studio, with the Pogo Sketch stylus pen for the iPad.

Her digital caricatures have been seen across the country and in multiple international publications.

Angie is also the world's first iPad Caricature Artist, creating iPad caricatures at the Apple Store in Lancaster, PA, during the launch of the iPad.

When not drawing on the iPad at live events, she draws with her Cintiq at live events and her studio, in the Appalachian Mountains just outside of Philadelphia, PA.

  • Thanks everyone! The brush settings are very "tweakable" too. And just think, this is still a first generation device! Can't wait to see what comes out in the spring!

  • Wacom kills ipad, wacom intuos4 or cintiq*

  • @elDreDas Paper kills rock. Rock kills scissors. *grin* They are different things for different occasions. That's like saying Laptops are better than the iPad. Different tools for different things. That's all.

  • @digitalblacksmiths You can see the context, we are talking about DRAWING, ipad is over sized ipod touch and it is awsome ( i realy love it) but if you are want to draw then buy a wacom tablet because ipad is not for good works, it let you make interesting sketching but thats all. I you want to draw buy a wacom, if you want fun and draw IDEAS not the complete work* then buy and ipad, i you enough money then buy both cause they are great together

  • @elDreDas Oh, sure. Wacoms are great and we posted several videos already drawing on a Cintiq 21-inch. But the iPad is a different tool altogether. If you want to believe you can't draw on the ipad, go right ahead. But many artists are going ahead and creating wonderful pieces of art (even featured on the cover of national magazines, like the New Yorker). It's just another tool in the artists' box of techniques.

  • Finally a good video with great information about an art app that is more like I am used to for my tablet. I can't wait to get started and now trying to find it is going to be my next project. Thanks Angie!

  • Hi Angie, fantastic video, I've been refusing to use digital media for a while now, but after getting an iPhone and watching your videos I can see that it's fun to try, so why not. I just installed Artstudio to try it out later at coffee time :)

  • Oh & I also have Inspire pro & animation creator :)

  • I started off with artstudio on the iPod touch, but have since got an ipad2 & have bought sketchbook pro & doink since & all are very good. I just feel when I'm using one, I could use a certain feature the other app allows you to use. I suppose you can transfer between the apps, but obviously if one could incorporate all these into one it'd be the best drawing app on the app store

  • tehy many uniete fokio lolool hassshhhaasdsdahsda
