Arafat was nothing more than a common terrorist. He didn't so much bring the Palestinian cause to the world as he did whip the Palestinians up against the Israelis, leading to the violence and bloodshed we've seen in the last 30 years.

@antifunki but my point is--and I have seen it in the civil rights movement in other movements--that real people screw up--I don't know whether he did or not I know he was a brave man and he was essential in bringing the Palestinian cause to the rest of the world--HE was not a disaster for the Palestinian people!! That hides the blame--the Zionists the British, The USA are the disaster.

@vivascargill yes, another possibility is to actually refer to what I was writting - Arafat was a disaster for his people. He stole all their money (everything went to his wife's bank account in Paris), led them to terror and misery, and prevented any peace agreement with Israel though he was offered more than they will ever get from now on. I'm NOT saying anything against the Palestinians - only against this horrible leader
