On October 9, 2008, Daytona Beach, Florida, had a tornado scare when a tornado watch was issued and there was a strong possibility for two tornadoes to actually form. Taken directly from Embry-Riddle's Daytona Beach campus during the duration of the storm.

It's a shelf cloud, these clouds sometimes extend below the base of a severe thunderstorm. They're not uncommon in supercells, thunderstorms capable of producing tornadoes.

  • why is it so low ?

  • daytona rox! DAYTONA FTW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I remember when that hit. I was over at Lehman and there were cessnas on final aproach through that wall cloud. The cloud couldnt have been higher than 300 feet by the time it crossed the runway. Crazy cool!

  • scary (but cool) looking clouds
