6233 'Duchess of Sutherland' on 'The Scarborough Flyer', Friday 6th August 2010

Here we see what is likely to be the only 'Scarborough Flyer' train i'll film this summer due to me being very busy and my holiday to devon in about 2 weeks time, anyway on the 6th august, the LMS wartime black 'Duchess' class number 6233 'Duchess of Sutherland' hauled the train from Crewe to Scarborough and return, this year the Railway Touring Company's 'Scarborough Flyer' is using a locomotive pool consisting of LMS Princess Royal class 6201 'Princess Elizabeth', LMS Duchess 6233 'Duchess of Sutherland' and LNER A4 Class 60019 'Bittern'.

Tonight we see 6233 arriving at Wakefield Kirkgate on the return run, with her long train of Maroon Coaches heading back to Crewe after a day at the Seaside, we see her arriving at the station, her being passed by one of the new Grand Central West Riding service headed by a class 180 DMU, then finally she is seen steaming out of Wakefield, heading for Huddersfield on the run back to Crewe.

Some of you maybe interested to know that this is the first video on Youtube using my brand new tripod, a Velbon CX-586 with a fluid pan head giving me better control over my shots.

Superb video Dec. I've only just picked this video up after being on holiday in Germany. Personally, I thought your panning was incredibly good already. I like the look of the Grand Central service train. I saw one in York the other week, and it reminded me of the old FGW units that ran on the Hants and Berks line as well as the former GWR railway. I look forward to more productions with the new tripod!!

@NwsNoaaChaser I think those Grand Central units are those FGW units you remember, i know some have gone to some other part of the First Group and some have gone to Northern Trains aswell as Grand Central Trains, thanks for the comment mate, did you have a good time in germany???
