O Energy of Wisdom, was written by Hildegard von Bingen (1098-1179), a German abbess, philosopher, herbalist, visionary, poet and composer. This antiphon was performed by the Hildegard Project on Sept. 17.09, Hildegard's Feast Day at Holy Trinity Church in Toronto. An indoor Labyrinth was set up to allow the audience to have a walking meditation experience while listening to the transformational chant.

Translation:
O energy of Wisdom! You circled, circling, Encompassing all things, In one path possessed of life. Three wings you have: One of them soars on high, The second exudes from the earth, And the third flutters everywhere. Praise to you, as befits you, O Wisdom!

  • hello~ what is the instrument at the beginning? sounds interesting! its like some sound of nature...

is this in monopoly form? and you add some harmonic accompaniment of the music?

im kinda interested in her music..=]

  • @iiris1031 The instrument at the beginning is a conch used to begin either a ritual or call in spirit to be present. You can visit my new website as well: omusic.ca (The other stringed instruments are viols or viola de gamba. I wrote some 'decorated' drones and 'melodic comments' for these instruments and at one point I sing in perfect 5ths to bring out the meaning of the text. This style of instrumental accompaniment is commonly used with Hildegard. ) I hope you continue to learn more...

  • I have it translated as :Sophia! you of the whirling wings.

The rest is translated differently too.

  • There are other translations available. Sapientie is Sophia, who represents Wisdom. Thanks for sending this and I hope you enjoyed the video! Krystina.
