The Alaskan tundra wolf whose voice this Kyrie was based on, sings the same four-note howl seven times in an interval known as the tritone - the sax, tenorm solo voices and chorus answering. The double-bell rhythm comes from Ghana. Live CD performance recording available from www.firstumusic.com or cdbaby.com

  • @lpgarrido What's satanic about this? Sure, it's kinda creepy, but then a lot of Eastern Orthodox liturgies are.

  • satanic mass

  • Catholic Mass?!?!?!?!? Panteismo puro!!!!!

  • Was just listening to the Paul Winter Consort performance of this Kyrie - part of the Catholic Mass. Fond memories - I saw a performance of this Mass at the Baltimore Cathedral with my mother in the 70s.

  • Utterly astounding. Quite a beautiful service. St. Francis would love it!
