Japanese society is being shaken to the core by proposals of radical reforms in the legal system. Until now, the authority of judges has gone unchallenged but this is due to change.

  • I'm Japanese in Europe, and know well that our legal system is utter shambles, but it's rather funny to see so many Americans being so sanctimonious here. If your system is so good, why did your gov't release last year so many people who were wrongly sentensed to death? Besides, you're still holding so many w/o any trials or sometimes even any charges in Guantanamo. At least, we don't do that kinda shit.

  • Its done out of respect to others. They may have a flu or cold and do not want to spread it around. Its a very common thing to do.

  • Are Japan's problems really different from other legal systems?

There are dozens of cases where even 24 hours of interrogation can crack someone to make a false confession. Shorter detention period won't help much.

The only solution is to make ALL confessions inadmissible in court, but I don't know any country that does that.

I like this idea of juries working side by side with judges.

Juries are the polar opposite of judges hyper-analytical, they are too swayed by emotion and prejudice.

  • @jf1gwj ... any more.

u r strange ... don´t make people upset so easy.

It´s not really nice in memory of the victims....or for japanese people....we should stop thinking "this country made that to the other one"

we should think as a unity

  • @bibifellini

I wrote that comment to make people angry lol

Don't worry, I know Japan is not all that bad, don't get too upset.

  • @bibifellini

    Lol, how about this.

Japanese are seeking to innovate and improve lives.

    Feel any better?

Japanese aren't all bad lol, Don't get too upset.

how can u people write so much crap?

it´s just a video showing pro&contra of saibanin system.... just a view of the filmproducer....so how can u start to fight and talk wrong about countries and their legal system?and how do you end up to Unit 731??!? (which is no good I know !!-_-) and Nanking?A country is not denying justice just because it made mistakes in past...or should we start to argue the past of everyone of us?

  • @jf1gwj In America they get released, in Japan, they just die....

Also, I don't think you can compare someone held for committing acts of international terrorism to someone accused of robbery. Everyone at Guantanamo was picked up on a battlefield by the military or intelligence services. Innocent people, don't exactly hang around Al Qaeda...

  • >>AyakoTachi

    you know why?

Because Japanese law was made by USA

which is one of the tool to control us easier!

Operation (Name="war guilt information program") was succeeded and

we mind controlled the constitution and law is bible!!!!! Thus we never ever updated ourselves !

  • Japs denied Unit 731 existed.

Japs denied the sneaked attack on Pearl Habor,

Japs denied the rape of Nanking ever happened.

Now, Japs deny justice to their fellow country mates.

  • man so ur jap? you system is horible!!
