MARC P879-17

MARC P879 comes to a stop in Gaithersburg MD. Note the new electric crossing bell. The old Hayes gong style bell was replaced earlier this year. The Washington Grove crossing has had an electric bell for years. Now only the Chestnut St crossing and the Metro. Grove crossing have real bells, both are WC Hayes products.

It's so sad to know that a guy was killed by a MARC here. I passed the engine that hit the guy and it held up the rail for awhile. about one hour before i passed it, the guy was hit. so sad. every time i cross here, i'll think of that guy

Why? Think that he was just a dumbass? Do you know how many people have been kit and killed in Gburg? At least a dozen in the past 15 years or so. Nothing sad about a dumbass...-Jeffrey

well i never knew how he died. if it was his fault (the guy who was hit) than yeah i agree, its not very sad, his fault. but if its the other way around then its sad

I like it when bells ring all the time and not just when the gates are coming down.

The bells stop when the gates lower. They do that in my area, too. I don't get it why they do that.
