That was December 2011. Here we follow her incredible journey as she not only fights this disease but experiences all of the joys (and exhaustion) new motherhood has to offer.

Dear Joanna. I've lost my mom to cancer. She was a fighter. Doctors told her she had 4-6 weeks but she lived 13 months . I miss her terribly. I will be praying for you.

I have never met Joanna or Mark, but I live one house down from them. It is crazy to think about how just two houses away there is a family going through something so hard. I saw Joanna drive up the road once and I felt like I had spotted a celebrity. I only saw her for a split second, but she just had the look about her that seemed so poised and confident. I pray that everything works out well for Joanna, Mark and Maggie. She seems like one tough lady who will do whatever it takes to make it.
