http://www.trekkingbritain.com walking website presents. Photos taken on a wild camping trip by myself. I knew the weather was going to be cold and showery the day I went but I knew that after that cleared through in the night there would be a clear window with a frost so I thought ideal for my first Peak District wild camp. I got the train to Chinley station and walked over Chinley Churn then Mount Famine to South Head which has a flatish summit. I watched a fantastic sunset as the sun went down over the Irish Sea. I slept well and was woken by the Skylarks as the morning light came, I woke and opened the inner tent to find it had snowed in the night and my porch was white with snow, fantastic! I made a brew, watched the sun come up then walked over Brown Knoll and Rushup Edge to Edale and a tea shop then train back home. One of my favourite ever wild camps.
