Here is a classic tape from the CEEFAX era which replaced Good Days in November 1987 and lasted a year until the jazzy tape Scouting About replaced it in November 1988; this was the earliest work composed by John Burns and Andy Grossart, and was in fact the first BBC CEEFAX tape to be made available commercially, and to mark this fact this was also transmitted again on BBC2 in the early-morning CEEFAX slot in 2003/2004 and also some of these tracks including Central Park After Dark were repeated on Slide Rule in 1993 and Wild Wind in 1995. Its tracks have also been heard on Melody Radio in London.

  • I love this instrumental stuff and have browsed Ceefax just to listen to it years ago. Great posting thank.

  • who the fk looks up ceefax on youtube? i came here by accident looking at bbc science vids. shame on us all.

  • i agree with tony. this is from an era when they were really making music with positive feel and direction. nowadays their stuff seems a bit plinky-plonky, lacking in substance and energy.

  • This was when the guys at Funtastik were really at their best. Not saying I don't like their later stuff but, with a few exceptions, they don't produce these contemporary sounding tracks anymore, instead preferring to concentrate on a more Easy Listening sound
