http://www.paulcolligan.com When I first developed the New Media Content Creation Model - I never would have guessed how strong the role of Web Video was going to become. I've had to change my model based on the numbers and I'd love to hear/know what you think about it.

  • Really interesting stuff Paul. Create video live is the big shift for me in this model. Real time web is coming hard and fast. I know Leo Laporte uses a friendfeed group / room to accompany broadcasts, the conversation component of live needs to be considered. It needs to be considered in terms of workflow and in terms of the business model freemium v's paid content. Interesting space to consider. Deano

  • Leo does the numbers that make a friendfeed group make sense. He also has a crowd that would be comfortable using it.

But, interesting thought, I will have to ponder.

  • Hey paul, I think this is great. Totally makes sense and I've been using pieces of this here and there. It's great that you put this info out. Thanks.

I do need to do more live creation and I look forward to getting that running as well. I think it would work well with magic. What do you think?

  • very much so.

  • Have to agree that video is huge and getting huger! My area is watercolor painting, which is made for video. Currently working on a hd dvd on painting with 'rough brushes' I am not a full time artist but search youtube for 'watercolor tutorial' or 'watercolor lesson' and I am high (even top) How long will it last that 'ordinary Joe' with a bit of net savvy can have a lead over the 'big boys' (in my case companys that make expensive how to painting dvd's) ?

  • you might be surprised.

  • This is a brilliant example of how things are changing. And if you ask me, it's long overdue. Paul has hit the nail on the head and shows once again why he is a leader.

From slideshow presentations to twitter to modern social networks the way we as a species, not just a society interact with and consume information is changing.

Without sounding harsh, people and businesses need to evolve or die.

  • Hi Paul - I like the direction. Am very interested in learning more - I'm getting deeper into video as my primary content - and am looking for more direction, systems, etc... To make it all easy, natural, etc...

    Thx

  • I am 60 year old high school student (1-2 page google apps web page). Would like to get feedback from you harrynetnz@inbox.com. Please detail NewMediaContent creation in your reply with date 28-8-2010. I have only one paying dance student.

Slow learner power point/ ubunto.com (non-microsoft). Yes may have ebooks but get connected to shopping cart/ or income generation.

  • I do believe you would get more clicks if you were to do more then just plain text I have to agree slightly with TheMidlifementor.

  • Paul, I'd like to see some more interesting video than just plain text... Black and white feels old... Yes, you are onto what's up and new -- but, the media is the message and I think it is missing here.. I only watched because of FreedomWebinars... otherwise, ho hum

  • don't worry about it - lots of great people do fine without it ;-)
