You can hide in there if ever the bad people come to rob you!

Great idea dude! I'm planning to build a semi pro sound proof recording booth in my basement in 6 months but don't have all the money yet. I've been recording vocals in my laundry room cause I have the same problem you do, computer noise! But my vocals still don't sound tight next to the washer. As soon as you walk into your booth you hear the sound tighten up & lower outside noise. I'm surely gonna build a cardboard booth this weekend until my real vocal booth is built, Thanks 4 the idea bro!!

OMG I had to laugh when I saw this because I made the same type of thing and I use it for my recordings and it really helps the quality and background noise. Great tip!

Not too sure about sponge. I think the important thing is to find something that is beveled. The texture is also important, that's why I used the foam bedding because it was rippled but had the right density and thickness.
I'm not sure if sponge material would have the right density or not - I'm no sound expert though.

Man I forgot how noisy your old computer was. I don't even notice the new one.
