Cardboard Vocal Booth (ugly but effective)

This by far is the ugliest, most revolting vocal booth that you will ever see, and yet it works really insanely well.

I recently had to disassemble it and a tear came to my eye, because its brought me a lot of quality and it was a nice place to just relax. Anyways, you can build one of these too, and using this method makes it very customizable and simple. Don't wait around - screw the professional approach if that's holding you back!

Not too sure about sponge. I think the important thing is to find something that is beveled. The texture is also important, that's why I used the foam bedding because it was rippled but had the right density and thickness.

I'm not sure if sponge material would have the right density or not - I'm no sound expert though.

Great idea dude! I'm planning to build a semi pro sound proof recording booth in my basement in 6 months but don't have all the money yet. I've been recording vocals in my laundry room cause I have the same problem you do, computer noise! But my vocals still don't sound tight next to the washer. As soon as you walk into your booth you hear the sound tighten up & lower outside noise. I'm surely gonna build a cardboard booth this weekend until my real vocal booth is built, Thanks 4 the idea bro!!
