A group calling itself the Real IRA has threatened to kill more PSNI officers and voiced its opposition to Queen Elizabeth II's state visit to Ireland next month.

The dissidents campaign is immoral & doomed to failure, but no more so than the camapigns carried out in the past by the provos or the INLA etc.. The provos used to promise they would 'bomb the brits out of ireland' and never recognise Northern Ireland as a country, now they sit on the British payroll working as part the status-quo in a Northern Ireland government. So as much as i despise the dissidents the reality is that they are the ones with age-old republican logic on their side!

@pppearse Greetings from the USA. Son of Irish immigrants. Iran is an ultranasty Islamic regime that treats women likes dogs and stones them in public squares for "adultery" even if they're rape victims. I have my opinions on the state of Israel, but the Iranian government is disgusting and treats its citizens like utter shit. I grew up in Jersey City so I know Iranians, they have explained it to me in such extent detail why Iran is a horrendous country to live in. But I still don't want war.

@Mrpastry909 I look at it this way. The British planted thousands of unionists in Ireland ( mainly the north) in order to take over the land. They then drew a line around a majority in order to hold on to all they could. Now we are told that it is their right to hold a section of our country. thats like a million iraqis being put into new york and then declaring it part of the united kingdom of Iraq and New York.Those Who live in Ireland (north & south) should be loyal to Ireland and not england

@97yebberz You are correct, the original IRA, PIRA, OIRA, and RIRA are socalist movements of one form or another. Don't be afraid of Democratic socalism. Parts of it have merit and our own country could benfit for some of those ideas. The same as we can benefit from certain aspects of conservatism. I hate political debates that lead to division. The current problem in our country is the polarization of the right and left. We should be able to come together and quit the blame game.

I'm 3rd generation Irish American. I was brought up with a deep respect of Ireland’s woeful history by my great-grandparents. I've been to Ireland and NI to visit family. As an American, I don't have the right to say much, but the "Republic of Ireland" has sold out to the EU and forgotten the union of the 32 counties of Ireland. Peace processes shouldn't be discounted, but if it doesn’t work, armed struggle should never be taken off the table. That applies to all people.
