Zelda: Link's Awakening DX, 3DS Virtual Console - System Freeze bug

I've discovered that the Nintendo 3DS can be crashed by exploiting the famous doghouse glitch from Link's Awakening DX.

The exploit is simple and only requires the Roc's Feather from the games first dungeon. Jumping is needed to get past a couple of glitched tiles that push you back.

First from a freshly loaded game (with the Roc's feather) you kill two enemies, and then return to the doghouse and perform the original glitch - walk into the back at an angle.

Following that, you follow the path as closely as you can in this video. You need the Roc's feather to jump over some of the unusual tiles at the left edge of the second screen.

When you travel to the west of the final screen, the entire system locks up. You cannot return to the home menu and you are forced to power off the entire system.

can u turn on 3D on the VC games?

Yeah, but only when you enable original resolution by holding Start/select when you launch the game.

It'll make the boarder 3D, which I don't recommend because everything will look smaller, and the 3D effect will eat the battery.

Oh yeah, this is totally legit. Everyone gets the red tunic and LV2 sword before picking up any heart containers.

@mjc0961 Actually, I got those two items illegitimately through the dog house glitch featured in this video, it was whilst I was messing around in the dog house glitch that I discovered how to freeze the 3DS.

As well as a lot of other items actually, like the hookshot, unlimited secret shells, glitched shield, magic rod, the bow, the ocarina, the power bracelet, etc.

Try the doghouse glitch or the freeze bug for yourself if you don't believe me, this is a buggy game!

@Annoyboy Actually NOT. Cuz' the Nintendo 3DS is not in 3D mode, until the hackers found some crash in a 3D game (of course, while the 3DS is in 3D mode) MAYBE they can search for a exploit or bug.

This actually didn't shock me at all, I had a similar experience with the Netflix app on the 3DS, completely locked up on me, slow internet at a friend's house being used by 4 other devices already + impatient leads to a crash. After a few minutes of unresponsiveness I had to shut down like you did here.I wonder how glitchy other software is.
