Hey- I played with singles basically up until a few months ago. I guess I feel that metronomically, I have more accuracy with doubles. It takes less energy for me to do doubles, and when you are playing a gig, conserving energy does make a difference. There are times now when I want to accent something and I will break away from the doubles and fill with a single oriented fill. I have not seen many others using doubles, but honestly, it feels maaad good and I feel like I have way more control.

Cool man! I always played train beats with single strokes. Never saw it done with doubles like this before, but country is not my forte so I'll take your word that this is correct. You're the man!
