  • Can I request that you do this also for the game Alien Fires?

  • @MarshmallowMadnesss

I've got the PC version of Alien Fires but not the Atari ST version. If I manage to get hold of it i'll gladly upload the intro for you.

  • Me as well. And i think this was the first game to use that technique on the ST, but i could be wrong.

  • Ace, remember getting that in the Power Pack that came with my STFM in 1990. Always found the hybrid sampled bass/drums and the soundchip lead instrument an intriguing mix.

  • The actual game sucked but this theme music is dope.

  • Schmeisst die griechischen Fauletten aus der EU!

  • I always got stuck in one of the scenes when fighting againts the Predator. I do not know if the game had a bug or something but I played thousands of times and always got stuck in the same point.

  • I bought the power pack in 1990 and this was one of the first one I opted to play. Terrible game as I look at it now, but the intro was interesting, and I loved the intro track with its drum samples.

  • Actually it was moving ;-)

It was just interesting to have the limited YM2149 play a bass & drum track while playing a regular channel, ninja remix on the ST does this too.

Obviously, it would be nice to have 4 independent DAC channels capable of variable frequencies without chewing 30% upward of CPU power but it still impressed ST people to see something which wasn't thought to be possible.

  • One of few games using 'Half track' half tracker half chip music. THe power pack came with the FM Not STE.

  • I have this on nintendo

  • I had an Atari 520STFM Discover Pack as well! Space Harrier and Carrier Command were my favourities
