  • The best part of this is seeing how trusting she is of you that you are doing nothing to harm her. I have a bear den near my house and a bear would come and look for food, even climbed in back of my pickup once hilarious. Unfortunately a new hunting neighbor moved in and threw bait by the den, later told me he shot her but she got away. This is the 21st century, its time for this sort of primitive behavior to stop.

  • This is just amazing! She is so trusting! I've certainly enjoyed watching her and her cub in the past few weeks. Thank you!

  • There used to be a long version of this video - do you still have it somewhere?

  • great vids..such a beautiful animal

its too late for us in the UK,they killed all our bears and wolves many years ago,and still some idiots are keen to wipe out our remaining foxes and badgers too:(

i'd export the idiots and import/reintroduce bears and wolves in a heartbeat,if i could

  • It concerns me, too, that the casual observer might think it's perfectly okay to just walk up to a wild bear. Dr. Rogers knows more about bears than anybody on the planet, AND this bear (as well as a handful of others) knows and trusts him. But I hope people do learn from this that bears are not normally aggressive, and should be respected but not feared. Too many bears are killed every year because people are ruled by their misconceptions and fear bears for no reason.

  • One thing I noticed on the comments is that people are thinking Lily is humanized. I do believe when bears are in a hibernation state their system is operating extremely slowly so they are very groggy and sleepy so that is most likely why she is putting up with this. Otherwise she would be long gon or raising cane.

  • What bothers me so much, is how "humanized" this bear is. The people on the FB Site, will think that they can just walk on up to ANY bear now because of how Lily reacts. WSome are COMPLETE nut cases on there...monitoring people's comments, searching thier IP address' to hunt them down through internet tactics to get them kicked off, etc, etc, etc. I find this very interesting, but wow, people feel they can come right up to bears now...c'mon...let's be real people...

  • Hope that people don't think they own the bear just because they saw it give birth

You know how people are they try to create a fiasco and say ohh we have to go rescue the bear cub because we told a local hunter and he wanted to kill the bear so we told him where it was and now we have to put the cub in a zoo for the rest of eternity. Ohh me ohh my at least we could save the cub boohoo. Aren't we the nice humans bothering nature and all. We will put the cub on t.v. in the zoo. We are soo good.
