The record of history doesn't seem to agree with you there. Who are better off, the elderly, sick and poor of Vietnam or the elderly, and poor of the Western Capitalist countries? I say Socialism lacks a basic understanding of how wealth is created etc due to the whole "all profits are undistributed wages" idea. That's not how it works, nor is that beneficial for the entrepreneur or the worker in the long run. So, why does capitalism have "dire consequences" for the sick, poor and elderly" then?

I don't agree with him, but have to hand it to him he's a good politician. Socialism is for people who lack a basic understanding of how an economy works and how wealth is created. In fact, didn't all the major Socialist powers around the world collapse twenty years ago? Why is it suddenly back in fashion now? It's been proved not to work people!
