The conceptual prototype of the desc souvenir (toy). The levitated object hollow steel sphere is suspended in the point of unstable equilibrium between two permanent magnets. A drift of the sphere from the point of equilibrium is prevented by action of corrective electromagnet coil which strengthen/weaken the attractive forces of permanent magnets under the influence of feedback loop signal. To hang up the sphere in the operation point it takes some acquirements of manual adjustment or the special launching guide. NiCd accumulator battery (4.8V 0.25Ah) is used for power supply of the device. It is enough to keep the sphere levitating over 50 hours in quiescent state on a stable base. • It depend on impact force

  • I have a question, is the base also a magnet?

  • @cononkudo the base doesn't contain a magnet.

  • wow this is awesome man!!!

    I liked it very much....

But is that a hollow ball or what?

  • yes, it is the hollow sphere

  • So let me understand this right.. You have permanent magnets that generate most of the lift and the electromagnets doing the adjustments?

  • Yes, you understand it correctly. Permanent magnets create lifting power and electromagnets correct position of the ball.
