It will never be the same without ol' Joe and his wicked wrist shot. Forever a legend, number 19. We'll miss you Sakic.

I still get teary-eyed watching this ceremony. Joe Sakic was, is, and always will be a hero of mine. One of the most talented players to ever grace the sport. Not only an amazing player...but he was most certainly a class act as a person in general. He's def a top reason I'm proud to be an Avs fan. Mr'. Sakic did an outstanding job as captain.

@wweryanyo and I'm sure the generation before yours said the exact same thing regarding your generation of players. Aslong as their is passion for the game of hockey there will be Legends.

@CaptainCarnage666. I could not have said it better myself. Joe Sakic is the Colorado Avalanche and he is one of the best players ever to lace up a pair of skates. I as a life long AVS fan will miss him. So long and good luck no19.

@KSharp320 Yeah I have never heard anything of him either. Him and Patrick Roy were my first two favorite Avs players(and I ususally don't care for other teams). It is a shame to watch him go. Now who we should start watching is Duchane

Has anyone ever tried searching for negative comments regarding Sakic? I've googled it everywhere and there isn't a single soul that doesn't respect him. That's the kind of player/guy he is. My fav hockey player of all time (love you too Iggy). Sad to see him go
Super Joe...Forever Our Captain....
