Kiel Week 2011: Tornado Speedsailing on Tuesday / port race

Tornado Speedsailing on Tuesday, June 21, 2011, in the "AUDI Sailing Arena" in front of the Kiel Yacht Club, and further down into the inner port of Kiel. Todays weather was split: just enough wind in the racing area, no winds at schilksee where the tornados were waiting to sail south. but wheres a will theres a way, 6 boats sailed right into the very inner port of kiel, along the festivity promenade with tall sailers, shipyards, ferries, showing of the performance of the tornado in even very low winds. 3 cheers to volker, carsten and florian of the volunteer lifeguard "Wasserwacht", that escorted the fleet right into the heart of kiel. a minute after return, showers started again. for the wind forecast near the racings area, see http://www.windfinder.com/forecast/kiel-wik.
