The idea for this montage came after I noticed several gymnast carrying their choreography in their floor routines over to the beam.

  • thanks :-)

  • Great video! I really like this. I didn't even think that was "Dark Eyes", but I did think it was Russian.

  • Nastia is so elegant, thank you very much for the montage:-)

  • Thanks, guys. I didn't actually know the name of that leap, so I just made up one I thought suited it. Thanks for the info. If there's one thing about the online gymnastics community, it's that they know their gymnastics. :) And I've really enjoyed learning from everyone. Happy watching over the next week or so!

  • or also a double stag leap. that's what i've always heard it as. or a double stag leap with head thrown back. really no difference. but there are different names for things everywhere.

  • The "broken" leap is actually referred to as a stag leap

There are 3 variations of it (I think)

The way Bogi does it, One with the knees more bent, and a stag ring with the head thrown back and the back leg making a ring position (like a sheep jump but one leg is out in front, it's only a B on beam but a lot of people, including myself, think it should be a C)

  • i never knew alicia done that on beam

    nice montage

  • I love spotting those things too. Another example that comes to my mind is the sort of break-dance Silivas did both on beam and floor in the 88 Olympics.

  • wow i never nosted that with khorkina!
