@jgesselberty He he! I had a similar experience at the Royal Albert Hall last month - there were two guys next to me who obviously had tickets bought them corporately and who remained completely blank all the way through. Behind me was a young lad of about 15 with, I think, his mum. When I turned round to see the brass on the balcony at the end of the Faust he had tears streaming down his face. Now thats the difference - he will grow up a Mahlerian, the others will buy their kids Bieber......
@longeaton34 The Mahler 8 always fills the house. Tickets are hard to get. I had to practically give an organ to get tickets to the Philadelphia Orchestra to hear it. Why don't people like this just give their tickets to someone who appreciates the majesty that is Mahler. I had a woman next to me, who fidgeted & sighed through the entire performance. After the applause (of which she did little) I asked her "why the hell did you even come to this?"

@AmricBattleshout He he......have to agree, the purple guy seemed singularly unmoved! Ah well, those who are not moved by Mahler 8 should be banned from the concert hall, methinks! I like this posting and Apollo Wong has the making of a great Mahlerian.
Apollo Wong still has a lot to learn
