Bag of Winds - Knockabout Wastebaskets

Odysseus and his crew sail to the island of Aeolia where Aeolus the king of the winds lives. They stay a month and tell tales of the valiant Trojan heroes. Odysseus then asks permission to leave and for provisions, which Aeolus generously provides. He includes a bag of winds tightly sealed so Odysseus can release them as needed. He and his men then set sail. On the 10th day, they spot Ithaca. But Odysseus had fallen asleep. Some of his men discuss the likelihood that Odysseus' special bag contains gold and silver that he is keeping from them. They steal the bag and open it, releasing all the winds. Storm-tossed they are blown all the way back to Aeolia. Aeolus refuses to help them a second time and instead, he orders them to leave his island for they had been eternally cursed by the gods!
