@jammiebeasts eye i liked these two aswell thou 422 was my fav one thou she did keep popping power units so dought they'll risk her coming back incase she does it again! A db driver told me that she has major wiring faults thus the engine kept blowing! 410 may be a candidate for coming back thou i wouldn't get your hopes up as she was knackered b4 been dumped at stoke works and 417 that one never did anything for me she was boring in plain grey and looked a mess in ews so not arsed about her bud

Trouble is EWS dont want them and they dont want anyone else to have them either so will charge top dollar for them. Looking good for 422 then, we may still see some further action yet! Thanks as well to you mate for the chat and the inforamtion. Have a nice day mate.

If 401 or 17 break we may see another to replace, but we all know what EWS are like! A former colleague works for them and he just text me to say 422 is OK for 5/1/09! Back to 3 examples again! On the suject of the EWS 37/4`s, if they are sold i can see a battle for them between WCR & DRS! Time will tell. Ta for the chat mate.

I really hoped that EWS would get working on some of those they have at Eastleigh but I expect they will just keep 401 and 417 working and forget the rest, we will have to see! I really wasnt expecting the EWS 37s to last till 2010, I hope you are right. Shame EWS arent as keen on 37s as DRS/WCRC etc are.
Nice mate! Yeh she was a beast but now sadly is been cutup along with 37402 in toton compound:( RIP

@gavin37688 Pity, I didnt know that 2 and 5 had been cut up. This was 37405s last run. After it passed me it ran less than 5 miles before expiring and dragged back to Bescot.

@jammiebeasts
No mate they haven't yet but according to my gen guy at toton and the forums on the 37/4's 402 and 405 have both been assessed and apparently there not good to go so its a case of component recovery then most likely scrapping on site! Thou i always keep my fingers crossed that some preservation group may get one thats if db are willing to let them go with the parts & power units still in them?

@gavin37688 As much as I love 37s and agree with your hope of them getting resurrected, I think 405 was a total knacker long before it failed on this train. I think the fact it ran in a pair most of the time saved its life for a few months but this 1000 ton ballast was just too much. 402 must be stripped to bits by now. Had 402 for haulage many a time on the Holyheads what a beast.

@jammiebeasts
Yeh wishfull thinking i've not asked my mate wat condition there in now but one things for sure they must be pritty fu**** as all the half decent ones have moved now to either barrow hill or kingmoor for drs to assess them an choose which to keep out of all thats gone to them.
Think 422 and 406 are both no no's two as 422 has major issues and 406 was pauly b4 been stored so hopefully before crimbo we'll all have a better idea just how many drs wants to resurect again?

@gavin37688 Thats a shame cos 406 & 422 were my faves, and 410 was massive as well. Never did like 417 and I bet that gets saved!
