Black Stallion is a childrens movie, but it is still a masterpiece, the cinematographer won an Oscar.

If you watch the original from the opening scene of staring down at the water running alongside of the ship to the boy being introduced by a long shot down the deck hidden by two women walking toward the camera to the ship sinking scene and the time on the island with no dialog, only a boy and a wild horse and the boys gace to move the story along, it is a magical film.

oh my god....ship tragically sinking, then the guy wakes up on a beach. So it's a movie within a movie within....a movie?
