Makarov 9x18 pistol at 80 yards

Shooting a Makarov pistol at a distance of 80 yards at a steel lamb. Managed to hit it once out of 6 shots. The target is that white blur in the background just to the right of me.

One out of six isn't bad at all considering the distance and the pistol used, especially standing and shooting offhand like that.

That and it was the first time I shot long range with that pistol. I usually shoot 5-10 yards. The target was the size of a Corgi.

@permazek well you can hit a 2ltr bottle with a good .45 or 9mm at 150 yards.

@permazek lol yes I love Corgis have one myself. Just providing a frame of reference. I need to take the Makarov to the range soon, where, hopefully, I can try this again and have more success.

@Shellshock1918 The barrel is too short. However they are releasing legal length version of the Makarov as we speak.

Why the Makarov is illegal in Canada?

I believe the commercial model was only built after the USSR dissolved...not sure on that. I would like to know what year mine was manufactured. I have read that the East German and Bulgarian are the highest quality...Chinese being the worst in quality. I have fired many rounds through mine and never had a single problem.

what model do you have? I have a commercial IJ-70 w the rear adjustable sight. I would prefer the fixed sight, but the commercial version of the fixed sight guns is rare I guess.
