Fall in Greece 2: Pure ALCO Sound, November 6 - 8 2008

Greek OSE class A-201 (ALCO RS8 (DL532B)), A-451 (MLW MX-627) and A-501 (MLW MX-636) diesels around Thessaloniki. Running on the triangle in Skydra after having brought a local freight with gravel cars, on a northbound mainline freight at Neo Pori and a lot of shunting action with several classes at Thessaloniki yard.

Does Greece have Meter Gauge tracks ?

the one at 2:45 looks like MG (as we in india use) to me ..i may be wrong tho

Hi,

Greece has a meter gauge network on the Peleponnes peninsula in the south and also ALCO classes for that (looking like a smaller WDM2), but these shown here are all standard gauge models.

The loco seems to be a YDM4, from its sound, the other WDM2. I think they have converted YDM4 to broad gauge for shunting. This is clear, as ronik24 mentioned that Greece had MG
