ok i feel sorry for every uk dutch or any other person that lost its money, but iceland is not living the good life right now exsample im icelandic and i HAVE to move to norway or at least out of the country because of the crisis so to make it clear uk and dutch are not only one in money trouble we are sellin all our things just so we can buy food ! there were 20-30 people that caused all this to happen not the whole nation or the goverment, even tho the goverment faild to safe what was left!!!!

People talk about losing all their money like the money is lost and vanished like a steam in open air.
This money will be paid. The British government is holding all the assets of the Icelandic banks so the Icelandic government obviously can´t sell the assets to pay back the deposits.
I must admit that I am bit puzzled that UK is supposed to be experts in banking but still they don´t seem to understand anything when it comes to international banking.

The TV clips were posted 18 months ago, when many UK savers had money transferred from their Icelandic Bank accounts into thin air. We finally received our life savings and interest, thanks to the UK Government lending it to the Icelandic Government, who are refusing to pay it back. It's all eyes eyes on the Icelandic government now.
