This video is a documentary of the graduation rites of several batches of linemen from the Cebu Electric Cooperatives, Inc. (CEBECO !, 2 & 3), electric distribution utilities in Cebu, Philippines.
The training was conducted by a group of trainors from the Manila Electric Company(MERALCO), the biggest electric utility in the Philippines as part of Meralco's committment to small utilities under the "Big Brother -Small Brother" concept, to train and develop their linemen to world class levels. It is also a part of another MERALCO committment to the public and to society to train deserving and qualified out-of-school youths from zero based to highly skilled linemen for them to become active and usefull members of the community while alleviating them from poverty.
The training group was composed of trainors from MERALCO, namely;: Oliver K. Kintanar, Armando P. Bahilango, Modesto A. Sansalian, Rodolfo M. Ruego and assisted by CEBECO Staff Ed Satina, Loy, Crodua, Al Libumfacil, Joel Orcullo and Willy Trinidad among others.
This group are now retired and have formed The Lineman's Foundation, Inc, and are conducting Basic and Advanced Lineman Training Programs for the Electric Distribution Utilities in the Philippines in cooperation with the PXI Power Solutions, Inc., an Enginering and Construction firm based in Manila, Philippines.
