In this video, I give an honest review of the book that started it all!

0:01 ---Intro to the book that started it all and what I will cover ---WHO is Andre Walker?

2:16 --- The POSITIVE things about the book. ---What makes this book so special and unique? --- Black hair's history as the "other" hair ---What is my impression of Andre's personality? ---Who does he sound like?

6:24 --- Which hair types are in this book? Which hair types do NOT exist in the book? WHO created these additional hair types not found in the book? Brief description of the hair types.

Youtube lowers the quality of your
original video which gives us "flawless skin" & hair without "skunk stripes". lmao.

You think I'm over-acting, but trust,
the original video has a big ol' white patch that you could not miss. lol.

  • I found this video very informative. I've heard a lot of natural youtubers talk about hair types (4a, 4b, etc.) but they've never explained it as you did. Thanks :)

Btw, I honestly thought that was some conditioner left over in your hair or something like that, until you mentioned it was gray hair. lol! You crack me up!

  • Hey, RacquelNM!

I swear, I love making people laugh or smile so much, it is addictive. Condtioner left in my hair. LOL! :0)

  • I still wonder why people still use the term 'black hair.' It's like saying American food -that's like everything. Black hair is like D - all of the above (type 1,2,3,4) And some families do have all of the above.

The genetic indicators that dictate the difference in human hair and skin are so minute, that we might as well separate ourselves by blood type or vision LOL -

  • It was only until I started following the natural care community on YouTube, did I ever hear about Mr. Walker's "Hair Typing System", and I still don't get it.

  • soooo, all hair is created equally....? love it, that's knowledge!

  • What no 3C? and no 4C? Wow, guess you can tell I never read it. lol

  • You had me crackin up about the "dwight" voice! Once you said that, I was like, OH MY GOSH YES!!!!! lol! ;D

  • I will be checking it out at the library tomorrow

  • THE BEAUTY OF US is that we are not alike kind of like a candy jar with different flavors and textures and shapes

  • let me tell you that there are also many asians with curly hair!

  • That is really strange that he felt it is only to types of curly hair.

  • OH MY GOSH, I THOUGHT THAT TOO!! I heard Dwight talking to me the whole entire time i was reading that book too!! lol, that's awesome.

  • thanks for this kimmaytube. Im a transitioner. 3 months so far. I have been doing a lot of research and came across this numerical way of classifying hair and had no idea what it meant. thanks for clearing it up for me. Your videos are great.
