Wow... I'm absolutely amazed that its okay with being frozen. How do other species respond to this technique?

We have been to the moon, we have charted the depths of the ocean and the heart of the atom, but we have a fear of looking inward to ourselves because we sense that is where all the contradictions flow together. -Terrence McKenna

I performed a similar experiment a couple years ago using a stem-butt slurry combined with cardboard spawn. It proved to be a success and I'm really looking forward to the next fruiting.
I find the idea of freezing the slurry quite intriguing and plan to give the method a shot... anything to cut down on the need for sterile work is a bonus for encouraging more people to dabble in mushroom cultivation!
Using compost as the fungal vector is great!
Excellent experiment!
Any videos of this technique's success?

We did not take a video last year, the mushrooms fruited about 5 feet from the compost pile in the leaf litter...

yeah, and it really works, this past fall we found a blewit patch 4 feet from the compost pile. I was actually suspicious of this when Tradd did it, and didn't think it would work, especially since it was completely frozen. now i am convinced.
