Introduction
Lying in your death bed, your mind wandering between living the rest of your life or ending it suddenly, what would you choose?
Debates about the ethics of euthanasia and physician assisted suicide date from ancient Greece and Rome." The ancient Greeks and Romans did not believe that life needed to be preserved at any cost. However, in recent years the battle between euthanasia has grown. Proposition- Euthanasia should not be legalized.
Body
I. Euthanasia is defined as "administration of lethal medications to patient by physician with the intention of ending the patient's life With that came the issue of equal pay between men and women
i. When a person carries out an act of euthanasia, he brings about the death of another person because he believes the latter's present existence is so bad that they would be better off dead.
II. In comparison to murder, it is your own self-right to want to kill someone unjustly, however it is against the law; and to most murder is unmoral. So what about euthanizing someone?
III. "The terminally ill is a class of persons who need protection from family, social and economic pressures, and who are often particularly vulnerable to such pressures because of chronic pain, depression and the effects of medication.
IV. Right now in 49 out of 50 states in the U.S. euthanasia is banned with the exception being Oregon and only 2 countries out of the entire world have legalized euthanasia, those exceptions being Belgium and The Netherlands.
V. Dr. Death better known as Jack Kevorkian was arrested for euthanizing more than 130 people.
i. Jack Kevorkian was arrested and charged with second degree murder of Thomas Youk
ii. Jack Kevorkian was arrested and charged with second degree murder of Thomas Youk
Conclusion
Although I do believe in patient's rights and autonomy, I don't believe in murder, whether it is of own self or not, should be one of those rights. I believe it will produce a snowball effect where no one will be able to decipher between euthanasia and murder. There would have to be superior security measure taken to ensure that the patient truly agreed to euth

at the end of the day, i believe if you put anyone opposing euthanasia into the situations of people who wish to use euthanasia, they would change their tune rather fast.

Physician means healer right? What does healing mean? To take pain away. Well thats what they're doing, taking away the pain of those suffering people. Those sick people are already as good as dead, everyday those people are alive, the longer they suffer. I don't think I have ever heard of anyone that would want a slow painful death.

I disagree with what you have to say. I appreciate your opinion, but Zachary is right, no one should tell a person they cannot die if they dont want to live anymore, especially if that person is extremely ill. Just because you are existing among people doesnt mean you are living, and if you arent living and dont want to live why should anyone have a right to tell me I have to?... Afterall, I am living for myself, why cant Idie for myself, too?
