This is a new one and is the first public play! Butch Philips (a nice Italian-American boy from New York's Spanish Harlem) started as a singer, branched out into writing, arranging, producing & playing some instruments. A stint in the Marines slowed him down a tad but he got right back into the swing of things upon discharge. With influences such as Buddy Holly, Dion, Roy Orbison, the Del Satins & Robert Johnson, it's no wonder his music is so eclectic. Over the years he has gone under various names such as Cornelius Rowelande & Johnny La Cane. He was also part of the duo Butch & Cat. He's had the inspiration & insight of some music greats such as Jimmy Ienner, Morty Nevins, Marty "Kaye" Kugell & Vinnie Catalano (to drop some names). His music runs the gamut from easy listening, country, blues & flat out rock & roll, all with a raw, retro vibe! (We're talkin' garage band raw, people!) So check out & enjoy tunes from his CDs "The Basement Sessions" & "Live as Live Can Be!". "The Basement Sessions" was engineered by Phil G. "Live as Live Can Be" was engineered by Phil G & Jim Reeves. All songs written by Philip Giacomantonio, copyright cpk and registered with BMI ...
