Simple Machines rocks - an open source delight. I have a tutorial on adding this with good forum hosting. Even the guy in this vid said he liked Simple Machines
many of the boards i see us vbulletin but the moderators are always very lame.
tech support site. I answer a tech question and the age of the posting was never made and i was banned for replying to a 2 year old question really dumb
Forum software is geared towards discussion between members. Forum software allows members to write in-depth posts to each other, post photos, and add hyperlinks. With blog software, members primarily post brief comments on an in-depth topic, but not necessarily to each other.
I have been a member of a single forum for 3 years now. My entire online exprenice has grown from this forum. Almost every single one of my current interests has come from that forum. It is a small forum around 15 members and over 3 years we all know each other as close as friends. I definitely recommend a forum if you have time to dedicate.
I like Proboards.

I agree all/most forum softwares suck. That's why you can customize them all. I use Invision Power Board. PunBB/FluxBB is neat too.
