@LaLaGrunge Socialism??!!!! Get your facts right and congratulate the bunch of bankers and speculators who created all this shit! They have been unregulated and have acted irresponsibly, and they have nothing to do with socialism, but with the free market capitalism this woman helped to instore!!

@thehistoricalgamer Where have i said Europe is some kind of heaven? Please tell me?The difference is many European Countrys France and Germany to name but too keep themselves too themselves and dont bang on about how they need to travel the globe solving other countrys problems. The USA just piss people off and have done for years, throwing there weight around the globe is the main reason. It makes me sick as a brit that we follow you idiots into wars, really angers me.

@thehistoricalgamer Of course it's an ongoing battle! We might get something new ahead that works even better. Or we might turn back. There is no coincidence that the left-wing socialists are joining forces with the Green parties in Europe at the moment, from having been the worse polluters in the East. Having lost to the market economy (tamed or untamed) they see their only chance of revival in a discours where scarcity of earth's ressources would justify extreme State intervention.

@mcca99 No health care is free. It's always paid for by someone. I'm not saying universal healthcare is a bad thing, but to say it's free is simply ignorant. Many European countries that have "universal" healthcare have had to or tried to redo how they handle healthcare because the programs initiated were too expensive. A few years ago France proposed reform to cut costs. Clearly it's not FREE.

@mcca99 Parts of any 1st world country have nasty ghettos that resemble the 3rd world. The difference is that in a 1st world country like the USA, UK and Germany those parts are a small % of the country. 3rd world countries however, that's the 99%.

@johanwinston To say that those ideologies have won implies that the future is now. It is an ongoing struggle. Some ideologies are clearly better for some things but even the ideal countries like Germany have in the past had to reform their benefits systems because they have provided to much at times. Its an ongoing struggle and is not static, they're doing better in some regards now, doesn't mean it will always be the case.

@mcca99 The Romans gave us more than anyone except the Greeks and perhaps the Arabs. That said I live in the US have spent extensive time in the UK and Germany. Europe isn't some heaven compared to the US like you make it out to be. In fact the countries are very similar. Health care is handled differently and thats certainly improvable (everyone's treated though) Berlin has some parts just as nasty as any part of LA and crime exists everywhere parts of Europe have real knife crime probs

I dont know if you are American or not but the sooner you realise that parts of the US are closer in resemblance to the third world then the western world the better.

@LaLaGrunge ...AND SO ARE THE US AND UK. CONGRATULATIONS RIGHT-WING EGOISM! The Scandinavian and German welfare states are the only ones in West doing well and the only ones in the world where all citizens can realise their dreams. Pragmatic social-liberalism based on respect and compromise won the battles of ideologies in the end.
