Habiba Dance exists to promote performance and teaching in traditional, expressive and theatrical forms of Egyptian Dance.
Edinburgh based dancer, Susanna is available for hire to perform or teach Egyptian Dance or Belly Dance at your event. To book Susanna, contact: www.habibadance.com
Susanna performs a Gawazee style solo with Sagat at Sarasvati Tribal's show the Gaslight Faeries at QMU, Glasgow in October 2010.
The show was originally conceived for the Britannia Panopticon Music Hall - the oldest surviving music hall in the UK - as a show with a connected series of Fusion dance acts, each taking a little bit of inspiration from the era of the Panopticon itself (1857-1938). This act took inspiration from a beautiful film from Serpentine video about the French World Fair in 1889 which described the European appearance of the famous Gawazee dancers.
